Burnt out on Bulwara

An Ultimo resident pointed this out to us this morning: a burnt out Ford Festiva is quietly sitting parked on Bulwara Road, right now.

It was there last night — and while it still smells like burnt plastic, there was no smoke and the car is definitely no longer hot.

The question is — did the fire happen here, or elsewhere? Probably here: there is a lot of broken glass all over the ground, and some weird seepage stuff. It’s not an engine fire (by the looks of it … admittedly we are no experts) - it’s an interior car fire.

Also, and this might just be a red herring, but in the gutter to the left of the car there are bits of hair and bone (though it’s probably bone in the “just ate chicken” sense).

In any case, it’s all very peculiar. We called the local coppers (not emergency line) but there was no answer.

Edit: Ok eventually there was a response. Police work is mostly about filling in forms, isn’t it? We had a very confusing phone conversation with a copper about the spelling of “Bulwara”, and were surprised to find that they did not already have an incident logged.
