Following yesterday’s announcement by Ian Thorpe that he is returning to competitive swimming, early this morning Thorpie was training in his own pool.
That’s Ian Thorpe training in the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre, Ultimo. Eh, that’s awkward. Puts the pressure on a bit, no?
At least it’s a covered pool - yesterday Thorpe looked like he’s spent a little too much time frying (not chips - his head). The Cancer Council was probably unimpressed.
Channel 7 and the ABC turned up to film the momentous occasion (we assume, mostly because Cyclone Yasi wasn’t as disastrous as anticipated?)
We double checked - his wacky black swimsuit was still on its mannequin, Thorpe did not pull it off the mannequin & don it for his training session.
It was more fun when Geoff Huegill returned to swimming, post fatness. We saw Huegill at the Ian Thorpe pool last year (even caught him perving at some gym girls). Safe to say, we all know Thorpe will leave the girls alone…
